The PW GM team confirms that some illegal items circulated in the PHP market in the past few weeks. We would like to clear some facts about this incident. Below are the details about this case.
1. A Test Account was hacked and used to generate illegal items and some of those illegal items entered the black market
2. Only one perpetrator is associated with this incident. No PlayPark employee or clan was involved in the hacking or selling of the illegal items.
3. Involved Servers: SUN and New MOON
4. CM Venus was sanctioned for getting a test account compromised
5. Additional security protocols have been implemented to guarantee that this incident will not happen again.
The steps taken to resolve this incident are as follows.
1. For the hacker. All accounts involved in the hacking incident are banned in perpetuity as per our game policy. Our legal team is also exploring what legal action can be filed against the hacker for his violation.
2. For the employee. Sanctions based on the infraction have been given.
3. For the RMT users. Game policy restrictions and penalties have been levied.
The team stands by CM Venus’ integrity and dedication to Perfect World and we hope that the community will keep this in mind as malicious rumors and speculation continue to persist. We would like to invite the community to report those who continue to feed these hateful rumors.
As we move forward beyond this incident, we thank the community members who reported the suspicious incidents which helped us quickly resolve this case. In the spirit of vigilance, we would like to invite the Clan Masters to an open forum being scheduled for this November 2021.
